Ayodeji Ariyo Gbeleyi MBA (IESE), FCA, FCTI

Ayodeji Ariyo Gbeleyi, MBA (IESE), FCA, FCTI is the Director-General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), Nigeria, where he leads the Federal Government's agency responsible for public enterprise reform, privatisation and the optimisation of state-owned assets. He brings more than three decades of executive leadership spanning public administration, infrastructure finance, investment banking, telecommunications, project finance and corporate governance.

Before his appointment to the Bureau of Public Enterprises, Mr Gbeleyi served as Managing Partner and Chief Executive Officer of GA Capital Limited, following a distinguished career across both the private and public sectors. His previous public service includes serving as Commissioner for Finance in Lagos State, where he played a significant role in public finance management and fiscal reform, as well as Chairman of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria.

Throughout his career, he has led and advised on complex infrastructure transactions, public-private partnerships, regulatory reforms and strategic investment initiatives that have contributed to Nigeria's economic development.

A Fellow of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), Mr Gbeleyi is recognised for his expertise in financial strategy, institutional governance and corporate leadership. He has completed executive programmes at the London Business School, the Harvard Kennedy School, the Wharton School and Lagos Business School, and holds an MBA from IESE Business School, University of Navarra, Spain.

As a member of the Advisory Council of The Capacity Institute, Mr Gbeleyi contributes deep expertise in institutional reform, public finance, infrastructure development and organisational governance. His extensive experience at the intersection of government, capital markets and enterprise transformation provides valuable insight into the institutional capabilities required to translate policy into sustainable economic and developmental outcomes.
